Job Description
|
Provide human resources to food & beverage (restaurant) services at a high visible and an extremely busy and a hectic location. Administers recruiting, employee relations, administration, regulatory compliance, compensation, and employee discipline.
Work closely with facility Human Resources Manager, General Manager & Operations Management to develop effective business plans and programs to meet the current and future needs of the location. Comply with facility regulations and security requirements.
Advises supervisors in the correct handling of employee performance and discipline issues. Investigate and resolve complaints.
Administer recruiting activities for facility: places ads; maintain internal application process, review applicants and makes recommendations to Managers.
Administer performance management and pay administration processes. Maintain awareness of local market rates and pay practices. Communicates with payroll function; provides necessary information; and resolves problems. Processes all salary changes due to merit increases, promotions, bonuses, or pay adjustments. Ensures all necessary documents are received, information is entered into computer database, and forwarded to payroll.
Investigates sexual harassment allegations, discrimination charges, disputes and other sensitive issues and refers to human resource manager and/or legal department. Communicates effectively by sharing ideas, instructions and information with others. Resolves conflicts by dealing effectively with people in tense situations to strengthen working relationships and by confronting and resolving conflicts immediately while maintaining constructive relationships.
Works with human resource management team to assist with the planning, communicating, and tracking of company-wide initiatives throughout the year.
Applies fundamental business and human resource concepts to establish and maintain effective work relationships with managers, the corporation, and the community; and maintains professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities. Handles information in a confidential manner.
Works with department managers in writing and placing job vacancy ads. Assists with screening resumes, interviewing candidates, drug testing, and assists with hiring new employees. Provides clear, effective, timely and constructive feedback to management on interviewing techniques and effective labor relations.
Administer new employee process including confirmation of required background checks, orientation session, setup of employee files, completion of required forms, etc. Works with operations management to assure that new employees receive appropriate orientation to the company and to the operations at the local level.
Collaborates with HR management team at headquarters and at other locations to develop and/or modify policies and processes to improve the effectiveness of HR operations.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related area, or equivalent experience in HR.
Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in human resources with substantial responsibility for employee relations, hiring, and general HR administration.
General working knowledge of human resources, problem solving, conflict resolution, consulting skills, decision making skills, financial, and analytical skills.
Knowledge of good hiring practices, performance management, compensation administration, and employee relations. Strong service orientation.
Diplomacy with a strong orientation to achieving results through teamwork.
General working knowledge of human resources laws and regulations, management skills, problem solving, conflict resolution, consulting skills, decision making skills, financial, and analytical skills.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to work with relational data bases, spreadsheets, presentation, e-mail, Internet research sources, and word processing software.
Ability to travel as necessary – (Up to 25%).
Strong Computer Skills: Excel a must, familiar with ReportSmith & ADP Enterprise a plus.
Food &Beverage background a plus.
Strong EE relations and General background in compensation and benefits a plus.
PHR Certification a plus.
Hours: 8:30 AM -5:30 PM, M-F (Must be flexible for after 5:30 PM).
